Overview

This qualification is aimed at learners 21 years and over who are able to undertake the responsibilities of a Close Protection Operative. Due to the nature of the role, learners may be required to contact emergency services and communicate effectively to resolve conflict.

Learners should be able to work at level 2 and above, and must meet the training provider’s health and physical requirements for the Close Protection practical elements.

Entry requirements

  • Minimum age: 21+
  • Ability to work at Level 2+
  • Meets provider health & physical requirements (practical elements)
  • Recognised pre-hospital First Aid qualification with at least 12 months validity remaining
Important: Learners should include a copy of their valid First Aid certificate, or evidence of successful completion within their portfolio.

  • QNUK Level 3 Award for the First Person on Scene (International) (RQF)
  • QNUK Level 3 Award for First Responders (RQF)
  • QNUK Level 3 Award in Rescue Trauma and Casualty Care (RQF)

Benefits & progression

This qualification provides knowledge and applied skills commensurate to UK baseline standards for Close Protection Operatives. It supports employment in the overseas private security markets and provides a foundation to build locally required professional development qualifications.

Learners could progress to employment as a Close Protection Operative. Further local progression and development is recommended.
